Trick or Treat: A portion control hack to enjoy favorite treats
Let’s face it we cannot live without treats. Today we will
figure out a portion control hack to enjoy favorite treats.
Treat is often mistaken with snacks because of the way they
are marketed. However, they are two separate things Treats refer to the
cookies, candies and potato chips etc which you crave for, it simply add
calories, sugar and salt to our diet. Did you know that small quantities of
treat can be a part of a healthy diet? In portion control for weight loss we
can enjoy our treats and still lose weight by limiting it to 120 calorie a
day. Let us dig into the trick to not
indulge too much on our favorite candies or cookies etc.
The secret which works wonders is single-serving portion
control. Get used to buying (or making) single-serving bags of treats (trick or
treat bags) which ever you fall for and stick to eating just one bag at a time.
Therefore, the next time you go to a store try buying individually packaged
portion such as a little 100-calorie bag.
Sometimes it is difficult to find the treats you want in
single-serving bags, try making your own single-serving bags which is both
simple and economical. You can portion the big bag into smaller sandwich-size Ziploc
baggies or small reusable containers and store them at out of sight place
because out of sight out of mind. As grabbing multiple packets can be easy if
it is right in front of you.
At first, the single- serving amount might seem tiny but
over time your appetite and eyes will begin to adjust to smaller servings.
Remember moderation rather than deprivation is a key to weight loss and this is a perfect portion control hack to enjoy favorite treats..
